Route

From Strbske Pleso follow red marked route northwards; from Popradske Pleso follow the blue. The latter is about quarter of an hour shorter each way. From where these meet, follow the blue for about half-an-hour and then turn right on to the red route for the steep ascent. There is a refuge, Chata pod Rysmy, just below the summit serving food and drink.

Waymarking and terrain

Excellent waymarking, colour-coded as shown on the maps. This is the TANAP national park and you are not permitted to stray from the marked routes.  There is one stretch where a chain is provided for security and there are permanent snowfields to cross.  This is a very popular route and at busy times you may need to queue for the fixed chains.
